Health Benefits for breastfeeding mothers. Did you know there are a lot of rewards for a mother who breastfeeds her babies? Low rates of heart disease, reproductive cancers, obesity, diabetes, and much more. Latest research from the University of Sydney tells us “breastfeeding may significantly help to protect heart health and prevent deaths from cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death for women worldwide.” “ Breastfeeding: How long is it recommended? The World Health Organisation recommends exclusive breastfeeding is up to six months of age with continued breastfeeding along with appropriate complementary foods up to two years of age and beyond.”
ABA meet-ups are FREE to attend! We welcome all mothers, fathers, babies, older children, pregnant women, and other family members who would like to visit. You do not have to be breastfeeding to attend, and it is not necessary to RSVP to any of our activities. Visitors are welcome to attend two meetings prior to considering purchasing membership.
Please bring a plate of something to share if you are able (though it‘s okay to come empty-handed). Tea and coffee are available. There is always a qualified breastfeeding counsellor present at our get-togethers to chat with you about any concerns you may have. All conversations remain confidential.
