Breastfeeding and Sexuality

Event date:
Wednesday, April 20, 2016 - 09:30 to 11:00
Event Location:
IMPS Building, Kirwan Health Campus, Thringowa Drive, Kirwan

Pregnancy and breastfeeding mean that there are a lot of changes to a woman's body. This may result in the woman feeling less attractive and desirable to their partner. This is a completely normal part of the pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding cycle. Come along to this discussion meeting to discuss how you are or were feeling about your body and how that did or did not affect your relationships.

Whilst this topic is generally taboo, it is important to discuss the thoughts and feelings which you have about your body following such a dramatic change.

We welcome all mothers, fathers, children, pregnant women and family members. You do not have to be breastfeeding to attend. We all know that babies can be unpredictable, so we understand if you are running late and welcome you all the same!

If you are feeling up to it a plate to share for morning tea is always appreciated.

Breastfeeding can provide immunity against a range of illnesses, but if you or your child/ren have signs of illness, or you suspect that they may be ill, please consider keeping them at home.
