Intimacy and relationships

Most couples are surprised to find how much their relationship changes after their baby’s birth.

Everyday life now involves looking after a new baby, learning about breastfeeding, getting less sleep and being tired from the tasks required to care for your new family.

Throw into the mix physical healing post-birth, all the feels about how your body has changed during pregnancy, feeling ‘touched out’ by the end of the day and a new, tiny person sleeping right next to your bed – you may feel like there is not much action in the bedroom department.

Join us for a relaxed chat about the challenges we can face in our intimate relationships after having a baby and how these can be navigated.

Venue info: We will be in Program Room 2 at Newport Hub.

If you walk right through the library, it will be the first room on the left.

If you enter the building from the rear, car park entrance it will be the room on your right-hand side just before you get to the library.

If you are feeling a bit lost phone or text Melanie on 0422551598.

The room has carpet, but you might like to bring a little bunny rug for your baby to play on if they are little.

Newport Hub is a ‘Breastfeeding Welcome Here’ venue and has toilets and baby change facilities.

There will be a QR code to check into the venue and we will also take a record of names/phone numbers for our group records.

We are unable to share food/drinks/toys – so please BYO if you would like to.

There are a couple of great café’s nearby (The Backyard and Leroy’s) if you’d like to get a coffee on your way in.
