Gold Coast Central, Qld
Welcome to our group
Our group offers information and support in our roles as parents. Come along and meet new friends, chat with mothers who have 'been there' and connect with trained breastfeeding volunteers.
PLEASE NOTE: For immediate assistance with breastfeeding, please call the Breastfeeding Helpline on 1800 686 268. ABA members can also access email counselling at www.breastfeeding.asn.au/services/email-counselling or online live-chat at https://www.breastfeeding.asn.au/livechat
With the current restrictions on in-person gatherings, many local groups across Australia are running virtual and online get-togethers. You can view our national calendar of events to find a full listing, and attend a group anywhere in Australia.
More about our group
Follow us on Facebook to see details of upcoming events and activites across the Gold Coast area.
Most of us know how difficult it can be as a new mum. Your life changes forever with the birth of the first child. When the second (or more) arrives it can feel like you're a new mum all over again. If only they came with instruction books! Luckily there's always someone there to help you, including the midwives and staff at the hospital, your family and friends, your maternal and child health nurse, and services like the Australian Breastfeeding Assocation.
ABA is first and foremost a support group. We aim to give mother-to-mother support and information no matter how you decide to feed your baby. If you feel you need support, or would like to support others, please come along to one of our meetings or social events.
Gold Coast Central Group meets on the first and third Mondays of each month. At this time, this meetings are virtual and ONLINE ONLY, either via our private facebook group or Zoom - details to be posted on each meeting date on the calendar.
A trained volunteer breastfeeding counsellor will be available at all our meetings to answer any questions, and provide information about the services offered by the Australian Breastfeeding Association. Partners, friends, grandparents etc are welcome to attend for support.
Our group members come from all different backgrounds and experiences; we are different ages and so are our babies. Some of us are first time mums and some are more experienced - we know that each baby brings new joys and challenges! We are all brought together by our interest in breastfeeding and the desire to help and support one another.
We look forward to meeting you soon!
