Breastfeeding is often described as a 'learned skill', that is, for many mothers it does not come naturally and takes time and practise to get a comfortable latch.
Many mothers experience nipple pain, especially in the early days and weeks of breastfeeding while they are on this learning curve. Even experienced breastfeeders can experience nipple pain and damage from time to time.
Join us as we discuss common breastfeeding issues, along with nipple care tips you can try to overcome or prevent these problems.
There will be a Breastfeeding Counsellor present if you have an individual breastfeeding question or are needing some support.
This is a very relaxed meet up – it’s fine if you come late/leave early – we know what it’s like to be operating on baby time!
Partners, expectant parents, friends, and children are welcome.
