Despite the social stigma that can exist, breastfeeding beyond babyhood is perfectly normal. As long as you and your baby are happy, there is no upper limit to breastfeeding duration. The World Health Organization recommends exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months and then for breastfeeding to continue alongside complementary foods for 2 years or beyond. Join us to chat about some of the joys and challenges of breastfeeding a toddler.
Connect & Share sessions involve getting together to participate in a facilitated group chat on a particular topic. After a general welcome and introduction we will have around 15-20 minutes of formal discussion on the chosen topic, followed by informal social time and individual support with a breastfeeding counsellor. For attendees wanting to find out more on the topic, the facilitator will direct them to supporting ABA resources.
Participants are encouraged to share experiences, ask questions, and provide input.
This is a very relaxed meet up – it’s fine if you come late/leave early – we know what it’s like to be operating on baby time! Partners, expectant parents, friends, and children are welcome.
