What is a Breastfeeding drop-in?
Breastfeeding drop-in sessions are designed to give mums a place to come along and ask any questions they have about breastfeeding or parenting. They are run as a group session, facilitated by a Breastfeeding Counsellor.
The facilitator can:
-Answer breastfeeding questions and provide support
-Provide information about breastfeeding and parenting
-Help foster social connections between mums and families
-Watch a breastfeed, if a mother requests
Can I still come even if breastfeeding is going fine and I don't have a question?
Yes! Breastfeeding drop-in sessions are a nice way to meet other breastfeeding mums. We also encourage mums to share their own experiences - perhaps you have overcome some challenges yourself to get to where you are now?
I'm not sure I can make it on time
That's fine! This is a very relaxed meet up – it’s fine if you come late/leave early – we know what it’s like to be operating on baby time!
Can I bring my partner?
Please do! Partners, support people, friends, and children are welcome.
I haven't had my baby yet, can I come while I am still pregnant?
Yes, expectant parents are welcome!
