It can be hard to imagine how feeding an older baby or toddler could work for your family - especially as many mums find that family and friends feel uncomfortable with the idea of breastfeeding beyond 12 months. However, breastfeeding continues to provide benefits to both you and your child. If you aren't ready to wean you don't have to! Bring all your questions and we will share some information and ideas about how to manage breastfeeding your older baby or toddler.
We meet in the “Phoenix Room” at The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre (first room on the Right, after front entrance), on a Thursday morning, each fortnight.
Everyone is welcome to attend; pregnant, breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, older children, partners and support people.
Please bring a plate to share for morning tea if you can, but this isn’t expected, so come along either way.
We understand that babies run to their own clock, so feel free to arrive when you are able, and leave when you need. We finish at 11:30am, however there is a café in the centre, so you’re more than welcome to continue chatting and making connections afterwards. We do ask that if you or your baby are unwell, please stay home to recover and meet us at the next catch up.
New and familiar faces are always welcome.
