It is that time of year when the winter bugs are circulating. Many breastfeeding mums have questions about what they should do during common illnesses - is it ok to continue breastfeeding? How can they best protect their baby?
The good news is that breastfeeding is one of the best ways to help protect your baby from illnesses like the flu, colds and gastro. Your breastmilk has antibodies and immune factors that support your baby’s health, even if you catch one of these bugs yourself.
Join as we discuss how to manage common illness as a breastfeeding mums and the measures we can take to keep our babies as healthy as possible.
There will be a Breastfeeding Counsellor present if you have an individual breastfeeding question or are needing some support.
This is a very relaxed meet up – it’s fine if you come late/leave early – we know what it’s like to be operating on baby time!
Partners, expectant parents, friends, and children are welcome.
