Many babies have a stage where they can be quite distracted at the breast or quite fussy to feed, coming on and off the breast frequently and fussing. This can be especially common in babies aged 3-6 months but can happen at other times too. Other babies may refuse the breast completely. This can be really stressful for mums and it sometimes feels tricky to figure out what the issue is and find a solution. Join us as we troubleshoot fussy feeding and breast refusal. We’ll be chatting about possible causes as well as strategies to try to get babies back on the boob and feeding calmly.
Connect & Share sessions involve getting together to participate in a facilitated group chat on a particular topic. After a general welcome and introduction we will have around 15-20 minutes of formal discussion on the chosen topic, followed by informal social time and individual support with a breastfeeding counsellor. For attendees wanting to find out more on the topic, the facilitator will direct them to supporting ABA resources.
Participants are encouraged to share experiences, ask questions, and provide input.
This is a very relaxed meet up – it’s fine if you come late/leave early – we know what it’s like to be operating on baby time! Partners, expectant parents, friends, and children are welcome.
