Did you know your local group organisers and counsellors are all volunteers? And if you've ever called the helpline, they're volunteers too.
What does volunteering with ABA involve? What sort of roles can you do? How can you juggle volunteer work with family duties, paid work, and all the rest?
Why volunteer? Perhaps you have been supported in your own breastfeeding journey and want to give something back. Maybe you are passionate about promoting breastfeeding. You might be looking for mental stimulation and to develop new skills. Or you might want to meet others and make new friends. Whatever your reason, ABA welcomes you.
Come along for an open and honest discussion with our volunteers. Like any other meeting, all children are welcome.
What can you expect at a meeting?
* Breastfeeding Counsellor/Educator to answer any questions
* Up-to-date breastfeeding and parenting information
* Great ideas and suggestions to help you and your family throughout all stages of your feeding journey
* Encouragement to achieve your breastfeeding and parenting goals
* A friendly, non-judgmental atmosphere
* Other kids for your baby/toddler to play with
* Shared morning tea – feel free to bring a plate to share (not mandatory)
We kindly ask to please not attend if you or your children are sick.
