World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated each year from 1 to 7 August, and in 2026 the theme is Breastfeeding for a sustainable start in life: Strengthen what works. ABA says this year’s theme highlights how breastfeeding support benefits infant nutrition, public health, family budgets, food security, emergency resilience and environmental sustainability, while reminding us that families need trusted support, fair access and protection from commercial influence. 

Our local Glenhaven event is a simple morning tea and chat with other parents and our trained volunteers to celebrate the week together. It’s a relaxed opportunity to connect, share experiences and enjoy support in a friendly space. 

There is always plenty of time at our meetings to connect with other parents and talk about any breastfeeding or parenting topics that matter to you.
