Join us for a discussion about normal baby and toddler sleep. Together, we'll explore why babies wake during the night, what sleep patterns are typical at different ages, and how understanding what's developmentally normal can help make this stage feel less overwhelming.
Rather than focusing on how to get your baby to "sleep through the night", we'll look at the bigger picture of infant and toddler sleep, including:
- What normal baby and toddler sleep looks like
- Why babies wake overnight
- How sleep changes as children grow
- Ways families can cope with interrupted sleep
- Practical strategies to help you manage interrupted sleep and look after yourself while meeting your baby's needs
Our sessions involve getting together to participate in a facilitated group chat on a particular topic. After a general welcome and introduction we will have around 15-20 minutes of formal discussion on the chosen topic, followed by informal social time and individual support with a breastfeeding counsellor if needed.
Participants are encouraged to share experiences, ask questions, and provide input!
This is a very relaxed meet up – it’s fine if you come late/leave early – we know what it’s like to be operating on baby time! Partners, expectant parents, friends, and children are welcome.
Our catch ups are held in the playgroup room - it's a safe space with plenty of play areas, toys and books to keep kids of all ages entertained. There’s also great, affordable coffee and meals at the on-site community café.
