Are you passionate about ABA's history and the preservation of significant documents and objects that record it? We are seeking a volunteer coordinator for ABA's new National Archiving Task Group.
The National Archiving Task Group works to build a framework for creating an Association-wide archive for ABA / NMAA by identifying what significant documents and objects should comprise the archive and documenting duplications and gaps.
About the role
You will lead a team of volunteers to deliver outcomes defined in the Draft Terms of Reference for the Task Group:
- To identify significant documents and objects that record the history of the Australian Breastfeeding Association and establish a matrix of significant documents and objects and a framework of priority for archiving within organisational capacity
- Review existing organisational archiving processes and establish organisationally sustainable preservation processes
- To review existing organisation and institution archives and any individual stored materials or collections to identify location of materials and objects, any duplications and or gaps within the matrix of significant materials and objects and the archiving priority framework
The hours required by the role are flexible. You will need to be able to convene a task group meeting a minimum of six times per year or facilitate a preferred method of communication accessible to all working group members.
Key skills
- Ability to coordinate, support and work effectively as part of a team
- Effective communication and writing skills to deliver concise, accurate and timely reports
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage workload and meet deadlines
- Experience with or willingness to learn digital tools such as MS Office, SharePoint, etc
Location
This is a remote volunteer role that can be done from anywhere in Australia.
