Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group Member

Are you interested in using your life experience and skills to support ABA to become more inclusive of the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people? We are seeking members for ABA's Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group.


The Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group aims to enhance ABA’s capacity to meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ABA personnel, breastfeeding mothers, parents and health professionals, by overseeing the delivery of ABA's Reflect RAP.

About the role

As part of ABA's Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group, you will: 

  • To develop a draft Reconciliation Action Plan for approval by the ABA Board.
  • To oversee the implementation of the Reconciliation Action Plan.
  • To monitor, evaluate and report on the implementation of the Reconciliation Action Plan.
  • To work co-operatively and effectively as a team.

The hours required by the role are flexible. You will need to be able to commit to attending 6-weekly meetings which run for a hour. Additional hours may be required to review papers and documents ahead of meetings.

Key skills

  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage workload and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Bring understanding of, personal knowledge or experience of the issues around breastfeeding
    support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, families and communities
     

Location

This is a remote volunteer role that can be done from anywhere in Australia.
