National Advocacy Working Group Coordinator

Are you passionate about championing improvements to the experiences of breastfeeding for mothers and parents in Australia?  We are seeking a volunteer working group coordinator for ABA's Advocacy Working Group.


The Advocacy Working Group supports key activities to deliver the, 'Championing change' pillar of the ABA Strategic Plan. Comprising representatives from each ABA branch, the working group translates national advocacy priorities into local action and resources ABA members to advocate on state and local issues. 

About the role

You will lead a team of volunteers to deliver outcomes defined in the Terms of Reference for the Working Group:

  • Engage with stakeholders as required to support the activity of the working group
  • Coordinate and support the WG activities to ensure they are progressing in the right direction and in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all WG activities are planned for, monitored, evaluated and reported upon against strategic aims of
    the Association.

The hours required by the role are flexible. You will need to be able to convene a working group meeting a minimum of six times per year or facilitate a preferred method of communication accessible to all working group members.

Key skills

  • Ability to coordinate, support and work effectively as part of a team
  • Effective communication and writing skills to deliver concise, accurate and timely reports
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage workload and meet deadlines
  • Experience with or willingness to learn digital tools such as MS Office, SharePoint, etc
     

Location

This is a remote volunteer role that can be done from anywhere in Australia.
