Your second and later pregnancies are a special time. You may feel more confident in your role as a mum and be looking forward to your family growing. You might also be worried about the physical demands of being pregnant with another child to look after and how your toddler is going to cope. It’s also common for mums to wonder if they can continue to breastfeed their toddler throughout pregnancy and whether it will impact their unborn baby. Today we’re going to chat about continuing to breastfeed through pregnancy as well as weaning and tandem feeding options. We’re also going to chat about how you can prepare your older child for the arrival of your newborn and strategies to introduce and involve them once your baby arrives.
We generally hold our educational group discussion and/or general parenting chat and then we break for morning tea.
A qualified breastfeeding educator or counsellor will be available to answer questions and provide mother-to-mother support.
