The journey towards becoming an accredited Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace (BFW) is simple!
With support from the BFW Team, your organisation can navigate the process towards a supportive workplace environment for breastfeeding mothers
The steps towards accreditation
1. Submit an Expression of Interest Form:
|
To start your journey towards accreditation, simply submit an Expression of Interest Form on our websites. This forms asks you to share information about organisation, such as the number of worksites and employees. It's a quick and easy process! |
2. Receive and Confirm Your Quotation Letter
|
Within 5 business days, you will receive an email containing a quotation letter outlining the costs associated with BFW accreditation. Once you've reviewed and returned the signed the letter you will receive an invoice. After the invoice is fulfilled, you'll gain access to the comprehensive BFW online Toolkit and start working towards your gaining accreditation! |
3. Work through the BFW online toolkit
|
You will have access to a range of resources to help you reach accreditation. Within this toolkit, you'll work through various learning modules covering essential topics. These modules include understanding employer legal responsibilities, how to develop a breastfeeding policy, establishing breastfeeding and expressing spaces and fostering a supportive workplace culture. To achieve BFW accreditation, you'll need to submit required documents |
4. Accreditation Achieved for 12-months |
Once all the necessary documents are submitted and evaluated to meet BFW standards, you'll be granted accreditation valid for 12-months. |
Maintaining ongoing accreditation
5. Confirm organisation contact demographic details |
Every 12 months, our BFW will be in contact to confirm organisation contact details. |
6. Renewing accreditation after the first 12-months |
Firstly, you'll just need to confirm and submit a brief self-compliance survey, a quick task that should only take about 15 minutes of your time. Additionally, there will be an Ongoing Accreditation Fee required to extend your accreditation for another 12 months. |
7. Ongoing Accreditation Audit every 2-years |
Every two years, as part of our commitment to ensuring ongoing quality, we conduct an Ongoing Accreditation Audit. Again, an Ongoing Accreditation Fee is required. |
