Welcome to our group
The Blackburn-Mitcham Group offers information and support to breastfeeding mums. Come along and meet new friends, chat with mothers who have 'been there' and connect with trained breastfeeding volunteers.
With the current restrictions on in-person gatherings, many local groups across Australia are running virtual and online get-togethers. You can view our national calendar of events to find a full listing, and attend a group anywhere in Australia.
Where we are
More about our group
Our group generally meets at members’ houses most alternate weeks - sometimes in the evenings. We also have a semi regular dessert night for mums.
Our meetings are a casual gathering of mums, bubs, toddlers and preschoolers (and sometimes other assorted family members) sharing experiences and supporting one another. Meetings are informal, with mothers and their children coming and going during meetings times as it suits them. Please don’t worry if you’re running late for a meeting. We run on mother time and understand it can be difficult to get out the door on time; we’d rather see you for a short time than not at all.
We encourage guests, so feel free to come along to a meeting. Guests are encouraged to join the Australian Breastfeeding Association after two visits. You can access all our meeting dates via the calendar tab at the top of the page. Currently we have group meeting dates planned through until October 2017
A trained, volunteer breastfeeding counsellor is available at most meetings.
For more information contact please e-mail our group leader Alice: email@example.com
Our group is on Facebook. We also have a closed facebook page for members only which is Australian Breastfeeding Association Blackburn-Mitcham. You will need to ask to join and members are asked to please be aware of the Code of Ethics. Any comments that breach the Code of Ethics will be removed. Thanks for your understanding.
